  June
5th-6th - Red Lion Brightfest. Watch for news at www.redlion.biz.
5th - Music at St Peter's, Wallingford. The Martinu String Quartet Quartets by Haydn (op.76/6); Dvorak(op 34 in D minor) and Schumann (op 41/1 in A minor).
6th - Open Gardens at North Moreton. North Moreton will be opening five diverse gardens, to the public, on Sunday 6th June, 2-5pm, with all proceeds going to South Moreton School. Entrance fee for all 5 gardens : £4 per Adult Children free. Teas will be provided in a 17th Century Barn with ice creams and a bouncy castle also on offer. Whilst admiring the beautiful gardens you could purchase some plants, for your own, at two of the locations. If you’d like some advice, garden owners will be on hand as will horticulturalist and designer, Jeremy Wilson. During the day, a quiz will be held for adults, with a separate one for children. Parking will be available on the recreation ground.

11th - Child Labour in Oxfordshire 1870-1900 - talk by Liz Wooley at Wallingford Town Hall, organised by TWHAS. 7:45 for 8:00pm. Visitors welcome: £2.00.

19th - Summer Concert. Music and Readings for a Summer's Evening. In aid of St Agatha’s Church extension appeal. Readings to make you laugh, and music from some of the village’s finest voices. Leading the way will be the children from the village school. Tickets cost £10 – to include complimentary Pimms and canapés – and are available at the door or from Tony Lascelles (837910), Wendy Murton (835111), Olive Sutcliffe (836063) or Alec McGivan (837351). 7pm at St Agatha's Church.
20th - Brightwell-cum-Sotwell Open Gardens' Day. 17 gardens will be open. Buy a ticket for the whole event at the first garden you visit - £5, children free. Ample parking, teas and jazz band.
20th - Unleash Your Inner Olympian at the River & Rowing Museum, Henley - Museum hosts free sports taster sessions and free entrance into the museum to all participants - 11am - 4pm, drop-in at any time
22nd - Quilting Group. Village Hall. 9.30am - 12.30pm.
26th - FOBS School Summer Fair. Brightwell Primary School. 6.00 - 9.00pm.
28th - Charity Quiz at the Red Lion for Wallingford Netball teams. 8.00 p.m.

4th - Family Cricket Day organised by the Junior Cricket Club. In aid of Save the Children and the Club. Brightwell Pavilion.
4th - Wallingford Museum - Family Archaeology Day based in the courtyard behind the Museum. The event is FREE, but there will also be a special TWO-FOR-ONE entry offer to this year’s Museum exhibitions. Between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
4th - St Birinus Walk.
5th - Science Exchange Wallingford. A look at how Wallingford's climate has changed from the tropical balmy seas of the Jurassic to the icy plains of the last Ice Age with Mike Clare, Chartered Geologist at Fugro Geoconsulting, Wallingford, and Chairman of the Oxfordshire Geology Trust. 7:30pm Wallingford Corn Exchange.

10th - 23rd - Wallingford Museum - Wallingford's Big Dig 2010. The third season of archaeological excavations will be taking place in Wallingford between 10 and 23 July. Last year’s phase of the Burh to Borough Project was a huge success in revealing more history of the origins of the town, which created much interest from the public and media. The diary and results of previous year’s work can be viewed at www2.le.ac.uk/projects/wallingford_dig_2008. This year the main excavation site will be in Queen's Arbour (part of Castle Meadows).

26th - The Northmoor Trust. July Clumps Club. Holiday fun for 8-12 year olds with outdoor cooking, survival and shelter in the woods and wildlife tracking. £20 per child per day.

21st - Wallingford Medieval Fair to raise funds for 'Framing the Future', an ambitious project to build a medieval-style timber-framed extension at the rear of Wallingford Museum. The Fair will feature displays of 'living history', by a group specialising in the re-enactment of historical periods, and you can try your hand at spinning, weaving, bead making, basket making, lace making, pottery, art, and even encounter a dodgy relic seller. On the Kinecroft 10am - 5pm.
