King's Meadow Tennis Club

The Brightwell cum Sotwell Kings Meadow Tennis Club was reformed in 2013, after a 5 year gap. We are a friendly club and welcome players of all ages and abilities. The emphasis is on enjoying tennis’ and affording opportunities for all ages’ to join in.

As at August 2014 we have 145 fully paid up members who have the opportunity to go into the Annual Wimbledon Ballot (All over 9 years registered with the LTA) and we anticipate receiving an allocation of up to 10 Pairs of tickets in 2015.

The club has access to two all-weather courts – refurbished in May 2013 by the BCS Parish Council - located in the heart of the parish, next to the BCS Primary School, in Kings Meadow.

A new Club House was erected at the courts in July 2014 and fitted with a toilet and kitchen. Keys are available for club members.

Coaching is delivered for juniors from 3 years to 14 Yrs by an LTA qualified coach – from the Community Tennis Association (CTA) every Thursday from 3.30pm to 7pm all year round.

Club Nights are on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings 7pm to dusk and Sunday Morning 9 am to 12 Noon from April to September.

  • An energetic and committed committee to organise and run the club including a BCSKMTC member who is a qualified welfare officer

  • The provision of Qualified LTA Coaching for juniors from 3 to 14 Years old by the Community Tennis Association (CTA) throughout the year – at the Kings Meadow Courts and in the Village Hall (Plans to use mobile Flood Lights next winter for the children who need to use a full court)

  • With the club house and toilet the CTA are able to run tennis camps during the school holidays

    Club annual friendly tennis competitions for Juniors, seniors playing for challenge cups using a round robin system providing lots of games to play during the season

  • Social and fund raising events throughout the year, to include all age groups

  • A Continued joint effort by BCSKMTC and the BCS Parish Council to ensure the courts are not misused and maintained well ensuring the quality of the courts is available for the benefit of all parishioners

  • The potential to play tennis against other local clubs and or play in a league, if there is enough interest by members

  • An allocation of Wimbledon Tickets in proportion to the number of Paid up BCSKMTC Club Members who are also signed up (FOC) to the LTA and opted-in - Tickets to be balloted for during May from Members of BCSKMTC including Juniors over 9 years old (See the club web site for further information)
