Neighbourhood Watch
Postcoding
Postcoding is a method of uniquely marking your valued items of property so that if they are stolen and the Police subsequently come across them, the items can be identified as belonging to you.
Every year, property worth hundreds of thousands of pounds is recovered by the Police and not returned to its rightful owners. This is simply because it cannot be identified. Your postcode, plus your house or flat number or alternatively the first two letters of your house name, provide a simple and unique way of identifying your property. For example OX9 6DW 12 or OX9 6DW BA.
An electric engraving tool and UV pens are held by Neighbourhood Watch in the village and are available for use by any resident. Just ask your Coordinator or e-mail myron.edwards@talktalk.net.
