Coronavirus - Parish Council Response
In light of the recent Government update regarding the Coronavirus emergency, the Parish Council has decided to bring forward its response so that we can provide help for those that need it as we start to self-isolate.
The Parish Council will be delivering a letter to every household in the parish over the coming days setting out how we can help you. A copy of the letter is attached to this post.
If you are vulnerable or having to self-isolate and need some assistance with food supplies or medicines there are three ways that you can contact us. Either by email: covid19bcs@outlook.com by letter to the Parish Post Box at the side of the Village Hall or by phone on 01491 826968 (that will take you to a dedicated answer machine that will be responded to daily). As the week progresses we will also roll out a Covid19BCS What’s App group. Please do contact us – your information will be treated completely confidentially.
The parish has already responded brilliantly to our request for volunteers however we still need more people to add to the volunteer list. We have taken down the names already provided to us but we need to formalize the process of matching requests for help with volunteers. As such we are asking for you to contact us using any of the three methods above leaving your details (name, address, email and telephone). A copy of the Parish Council’s data protection policy is available on request.
We will need an army of volunteers over the next three days to help deliver the letter to every household in the parish offering our help. It is important that we don’t miss anyone out. Please do let us know if you are available to help with this.
Following the advice issued today by Public Health England it has been decided to CANCEL THE PLANNED MEETING SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY 17TH MARCH AT ST AGATHA’S CHURCH so not to spread infection. We will provide information through the ways set out in the letter.
If you would like to volunteer (and we have 650 letters to deliver over the next two days) please contact us. If you need help as you self-isolate, or are vulnerable or simply living alone please contact us.
Don’t forget that the Village Stores is offering home deliveries for those that need it.
Brightwell cum Sotwell is a resilient parish with fabulous residents. Together we will do all that we can to help each other as we move forward.
Sue Robson, the Chair of Brightwell cum Sotwell Parish Council will update you tomorrow.
