With temperatures set to soar this week our local wildlife will be struggling to find water, shade, and safe places to cool down.
You can make a big difference with a few simple actions.
Please do your bit to help!!!

Leave out shallow bowls of fresh water for birds, hedgehogs, and other wildlife. Add a few stones so insects can drink safely.

Create shady spots in your garden by leaving areas of longer grass, shrubs, or placing plant pots or other itmes where animals can shelter from the sun.

Avoid disturbing bee and insect habitats, as pollinators need access to water and flowering plants during hot weather.

Check your garden before mowing or strimming, as hedgehogs and other small animals may be resting in cool, shaded areas.

Refresh water sources daily to keep them clean and safe.

Don't forget your own pets too! Make sure they always have access to fresh water and shaded areas, avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day, and never leave them in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes. Hot pavements can also burn paws, so test the surface with the back of your hand before heading out.
Every small act of kindness can help animals, both wild and domestic, stay safe during extreme temperatures.

Together, we can help protect the wildlife around us and keep our beloved pets comfortable and healthy throughout the heatwave.
