Oxfordshire Artweeks 2024 is running from 4th May - 27th May with more than 400 venues to visit and over a thousand artists, makers and designers who will exhibit and demonstrate in artists' studios, pop up galleries, glorious gardens, ancient churches, Oxford Colleges and hundres of other interesting venues.

Benson Lock

Benson Lock may be sited in Benson but it's in the parish of Brightwell cum Sotwell.   The Environment Agency are due to start soon to remove the old weir structure and hope the work will finish by autumn 2025.   The ferry is back in service from 19th April, running Friday to Monday from 10am - 5pm.

Don't forget every Monday there is a weekly cafe in the Stewart Room from 10 - 11.30.   All proceeds going towards raising £7000 for the Village Hall Project and The National Kidney Foundation.

Are you considering some volunteering?   Age UK report that 1 in 5 older people in Oxfordshire feel lonely.  Currently over 375 people receive a free, weekly telephone call from their 'phone friend', but there are thousands more older people who could benefit from the service.    Volunteering as a Phone Friend requires a minimum commitment of just 1 hour per week which enables you to call up to 3 people.
