The J Haldane Stewart Memorial
This building was constructed in memory of the Rev Haldane Stewart, rector of St Agatha's Church from 1866-1879. It had two large rooms for reading, games and smoking, and its own caretaker. The wooden hut, which can be seen up the drive, was used for many years as the village hall.
To the left of the picture is Stewart's Cottage, which was given to the trustees to provide an income for the hall. Both buildings are now private houses.
